Starting January 1, 2022, China will enforce new regulations on foodstuff export registration for entities interested in exporting food to the country. These rules, detailed in GACC Orders 248 and 249, require entities to meet certain safety management principles. Until November 30, 2021, entities with a documented export history from 2017 can use a simplified registration path. There will be a deadline for submitting the list of eligible companies, after which entities may need to undergo full registration. The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate recommends that companies planning to continue exporting food to China in the future should consult with their supervising sanitary and epidemiological station to ensure compliance with the new regulations.
