The dairy sector is closing the year with milestone figures, as between January and November, exports reached 881.5 million dollars, a 14% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to data from the National Dairy Institute (Inale). This performance places the country on the brink of surpassing the record for dairy export revenues, set in 2022 at 925.2 million dollars. If projections are met, it will be only the third time in history that Uruguay exceeds the symbolic barrier of 900 million dollars in this sector. The driving force behind this growth was whole milk powder, which accounted for nearly 70% of the sector's total revenue (607.9 million dollars) and 78% of the volume exported (152,042 tons). Prices are following the upward trend. In November 2025, the ton of whole milk powder was quoted at 3,895 dollars, a 33% increase from December 2024 and 13% above the average of the previous year.
