Uruguay's Minister of Livestock, Fernando Mattos, and China's ambassador in Uruguay, Wang Gang, have visited poultry and feed production sites in Uruguay with the goal of expediting the export of poultry meat to China. The visit included tours of various facilities and discussions on labor and export authorizations. Mattos plans to travel to China later in the year to enhance trade and bilateral relations, which have seen significant growth over the years, reaching a trade volume of 7.5 billion dollars in 2022, a significant increase from the 1988 when diplomatic relations were established.
