The cuts announced by the United States for tariffs on around 200 food products stirred up Brazil's agricultural sector. The tariffs applied to the country's sales dropped from 50% to 40%, after initial doubts among exporters about the scope of the measure. The Ministry of Agriculture informed that the adjustment only affects reciprocity fees created in April, which accounted for 10% in the Brazilian case. The additional 40% tariff, set in July, remains in effect, which disappointed sectors that had hoped to eliminate charges, such as the coffee sector.
