The United States is experiencing an egg shortage due to avian influenza, leading to plans to import eggs from countries such as Brazil, Indonesia, and Korea. Korean egg farms, including Gyerim Farm, have successfully exported fresh eggs to the U.S. for the first time. Brazil has increased its egg export forecast by 67% from last year, reaching 35,000 tons, and is preparing to export eggs for food production to the U.S. despite sanitary conditions preventing the export of fresh eggs for consumer sale. Meanwhile, egg prices in the U.S. have risen by 53% compared to last year, according to the January Consumer Price Index.
