WASHINGTON — Following recent comments by President Donald Trump about the possibility of the United States importing more beef from Argentina, the Secretary of Agriculture, Brooke Rollins, presented a new plan by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) that seeks to strengthen ranches, rebuild capacity, and reduce costs for consumers. “We are committed to ensuring that the American people have an affordable source of protein and that American ranchers have a solid economic environment that allows them to continue operating for generations,” Rollins declared. “At the USDA, we protect our livestock industry and encourage new ranchers to engage in the noble vocation of livestock farming.
