U.S. pork and lamb exports started strongly in 2024, according to data released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and compiled by the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF). January beef exports were slightly below last year's volume, but the value of exports trended significantly higher. U.S. pork exports totaled 251,424 tons in January, 6% more than last year. The value of exports also increased by 6%, reaching $682.1 million. January pork exports were again led by a powerful performance in the leading market, Mexico.
