USDA: Global poultry meat production will reach a new record in 2026

Global poultry meat production could reach 109.6 million tons in 2026, according to initial forecasts from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). This volume would represent a 2% increase from 2025 and would be a new record. Pork production will remain virtually unchanged from this year, at 117.2 million tons, while beef production could decrease by 1%, to 61 million tons. Poultry meat production will grow thanks to the increase in the United States, China, Brazil, and the EU Global poultry meat production will grow next year thanks to the increase in major producers: the United States (which will reach 22 million tons), China (16.7 million), Brazil (15.7 million), and the European Union (11.9 million tons). The USDA points out that consumer demand for a versatile and cheaper animal protein stimulates production, also favored by a slight decrease in the prices of food for these animals.
