The USDA recently announced weekly shipment numbers for corn, soybeans, and wheat with unexpected results. Corn shipments were significantly higher than anticipated at 899,910 tons, while soybean shipments were lower than expected at 542,238 thousand tons. Wheat shipments also fell short of expectations at 268,136 thousand tons. Overall, corn shipments for the year have decreased by 38% from the previous year, soybean shipments have increased by 3%, and wheat shipments have decreased by 2% from the previous year.
