The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has forecasted a 15% increase in global almond production for the 2020/21 season, reaching 1.7 million tons. Consumption is expected to reach 1.5 million tons, and exports are projected to grow to 951 thousand tons. This growth is due to increased production in the United States, EU, and Australia, with the majority of U.S. almonds (60%) being exported. Additionally, almond imports are anticipated to rise by 15% due to growing demand in the food industry and from health enthusiasts.
