In the 2021 season, Uzbekistan experienced a significant decrease in fruit and melon supplies to the Russian market, with notable drops in peach, nectarine, and plum exports attributed to spring frost damages. This decline allowed countries like Iran and Georgia to increase their peach and nectarine exports, challenging Uzbekistan's position as the second largest supplier to Russia. Additionally, the export of melons saw a decrease, with Kazakhstan becoming the leading supplier and Turkey experiencing a fourfold increase. The persimmon export also faced challenges, with a 23% decrease in September compared to the previous year.
