Uzbekistan is planning to increase its soybean cultivation area to 146.5 thousand hectares in 2022, up from 18.5 thousand hectares in 2018. The country aims to produce 165.0 thousand tons of soybeans, which will result in 34,000 tons of vegetable oil and 128,000 tons of soybean meal. The new elite soybean and oilseed seed farm, spread over 512 hectares, is expected to grow 800 tons of selected seeds by the end of the year. The soybean protein is used as a source of protein in the diet of birds and small domestic animals, while soybean oil is digestible and harmless to humans.
