According to VASEP, seafood exports in Vietnam in June 2023 decreased by 21%, with shrimp exports down by 18% and pangasius exports down by 26%. This is due to difficulties in the consumer market and high input costs for producers. The main import markets, such as the US and EU, are affected by inflation and inventories, but VASEP predicts a gradual recovery in seafood exports in the coming months, particularly in markets like Japan, Korea, Australia, and Southeast Asia.
