The Canton of Vaud in Switzerland has decided to maintain or slightly increase the production quotas for the 2023 wine harvest, following the successful 2022 vintage. Despite a general decrease in wine consumption in Switzerland, the Vaud wine market remains stable with positive growth in sparkling wines and rosé. The quotas, which maximum quantities collected by operators in the wine sector, are maintained for Chasselas and other white grape varieties at 1.10 kg/m2, and for Pinot Noir and other red grape varieties at 0.90 kg/m2, with a slight increase to 1.00 kg/m2 for Gamay and Garanoir in Lavaux, Dézaley, Calamin, and La Cýte to increase the rosé wine offer.
