Between January and August of 2020, Uzbekistan experienced a significant increase in pepper exports, reaching a total of $314.3 thousand and serving 13 international markets. Vietnam emerged as the largest importer with $219.7 thousand worth of purchases, followed by Brazil. The Samarkand region was the primary contributor to these exports, accounting for 40% of the total pepper exported. Additionally, Uzbekistan saw a 16% increase in agricultural exports to Germany, including the successful shipment of fresh tomatoes to Berlin via air freight.
