Hatem Al-Najeeb, Deputy Head of the Vegetables and Fruits Division at the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, said that tomato prices are expected to decrease over the next 24 hours as the supply in the markets improves and temperatures stabilize. Al-Najeeb explained that the recent increases were due to a supply shortage resulting from reduced harvesting operations over the past period, due to concerns about crop damage after collection with rising temperatures.
