Due to a quarantine order in Ho Chi Minh City, there was a rush to buy goods leading to an increase in prices at traditional and temporary markets. Vegetables such as carrots, potatoes, choysum, lettuce, and spinach saw a 10,000 VND per kg increase, cucumbers doubled in price, and pork, fish, and shrimp also became more expensive. This price hike was due to the fear of the epidemic, the closure of many stalls, and the supply being low while demand remained high.
