Aguascalientes has commenced its spring-summer vegetable planting season, covering 130,000 hectares in total, with 45,000 hectares already irrigated and an additional 85,000 expected to be ready in May. Despite increased production costs due to international market conditions and the high cost of fertilizers and seeds, there is optimism for a productive harvest. The Secretariat of Rural and Agribusiness Development has supported producers by providing agricultural implements to aid in planting and land preparation. The region also employs a variety of cultivation methods, including protected agriculture through greenhouses and macro tunnels, which have shown to significantly boost harvest yields.
