During the XXX National Chaccu and the 29th International Vicuña Festival, held at the Pampa Galeras Bárbara D'Achille National Reserve in the Ayacucho region, more than 1,200 vicuñas were captured and 358 were sheared. This activity represents one of the most outstanding manifestations of sustainable wildlife management in the country. The ancestral ceremony, which brought together national and foreign visitors, reaffirmed the economic and cultural value of this Andean practice, linked to obtaining one of the world's finest and most sought-after fibers.
