Egypt has achieved success in peanut cultivation, with 40% of its exports coming from the New Valley and Sharq Al Owainat regions. These exports are competitive in both quality and price, even against Chinese and American products. The country has the largest factory in Egypt and the Middle East for peanut processing and export, located in East Owainat. The factory has investments worth 650 million pounds. There is also a successful experiment with a high-quality peanut area of 8 thousand feddans, which exports about 12 thousand tons, or 40% of the Council's exports.
