Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) is planning to produce 500,000 tonnes of seaweed by 2030 as part of its seafood development strategy. The ministry will propose to the Prime Minister to make seaweed a major product in the seafood industry. Despite having over 887 types of natural seaweed, 88 of which are economically valuable, the country faces challenges such as lack of cultivation standards, environmental pollution, and climate change.
