Statistics from the Enterprise Singapore show that from January to September 2025, Singapore's total imports of aquatic products from Vietnam amounted to 88.6 million Singapore dollars (approximately 68.2 million USD), a year-on-year increase of 14.5%, accounting for 10.2% of the country's aquatic product import market share. Thus, Vietnam continues to be Singapore's third-largest supplier of aquatic products, following Malaysia and Indonesia.
Currently, among the various types of aquatic products exported from Vietnam to Singapore, fish fillets and chilled/frozen fish meat are the categories with the highest import value. From January to September 2025, they reached 45.4 million Singapore dollars, a year-on-year increase of 8.1%, accounting for 30.3% of the market share. This is the main category of Vietnamese products that has long maintained a dominant position in the Singaporean market.
In addition, there are two other categories with relatively large import values: crustaceans and mollusks, with import values of 20 million Singapore dollars and 10.1 million Singapore dollars, accounting for 9.5% and 12.4% of the market share, respectively. These two categories also achieved growth of 22.7% and 99.3% from January to September 2025.
The Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore believes that in the coming period, with the stable size of Singapore's aquatic product import market, Vietnam's high market share in fish fillets and chilled/frozen fish meat will continue to be consolidated. However, for other categories, especially crustaceans and mollusks, in addition to facing competition from products from Malaysia and Indonesia, Vietnamese aquatic products will continue to compete fiercely with products from China, Japan, and India.
