Vietnam's fruit and nut exports in 2021 saw a significant increase of 7.9% from the previous year, reaching a value of 2.36 billion USD, as reported by the General Department of Customs. The country experienced substantial growth in exports of various fruits and nuts, with mango, bananas, jackfruit, durian, and passion fruit seeing up to 67% increase in demand. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the global demand for these produce continues to rise, especially from the US, EU, and Korea. However, the country faces challenges in meeting export quality standards, particularly in banana cultivation, and is encouraged to expand planting areas, establish standard cooperatives, and invest in deep processing technologies to add value to these products.
