As of September 2024, the top five importers of Vietnamese crabs and other crustaceans are China, Hong Kong, Japan, the United States, Canada, and South Korea, accounting for over 96% of the total export value. There has been a significant increase in exports to China, with a 784% surge compared to the previous year, while exports to Japan remain stable. Despite a decline in exports to the U.S. in the last three months, the first nine months still saw an 8% increase in exports. The high quality of Vietnamese crab products, which are antibiotic- and bacteria-free, is contributing to their popularity in these markets, and exports are expected to continue to grow in the upcoming holiday season.
