Vietnam's pepper exports in August 2024 saw a decrease in volume but a significant increase in value compared to the same period in 2023. The first eight months of 2024 witnessed a decrease in volume but a substantial increase in value in pepper exports compared to the same period in 2023, attributed to high export prices due to limited supply. The average export price of pepper in August 2024 hit a record high of 6,012 USD/ton. The Vietnamese pepper industry is expected to benefit from these high prices. Notably, pepper exports to Germany and the United States saw a sharp increase in both volume and value in August 2024, while exports to other markets like the United Arab Emirates, India, the Netherlands, and the Philippines decreased.
