According to the Department of Crop Cultivation and Plant Protection (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), bananas have now become one of Vietnam's leading export fruits. In 2024 alone, the export turnover of bananas reached nearly 372 million USD, showing a large remaining growth potential. However, the banana industry is also facing many challenges such as: Small production scale; complex pests and diseases; infrastructure not meeting requirements, unpredictable price fluctuations, etc., creating significant pressure on development. Therefore, the issue raised is the need to enhance the overall value of bananas, from production organization, varieties, cultivation and disease prevention techniques, to the consumer market.
