Recently, the off-season durian prices in Dong Thap Province, Vietnam's main durian production area, have experienced a significant drop, falling from 26.74-29.42 yuan/kg to 18.72-20.06 yuan/kg, a drop of over 20%. More specific market data shows that the prices of different durian varieties have all declined noticeably. Liang Wenhan, director of the Fugui Agricultural Cooperative, revealed that the price of imported Thai A-type Gold Pillow durians dropped from 28.13 yuan/kg to 24.11 yuan/kg; Ri6 durian prices fell from 16.07 yuan/kg to nearly 13.39 yuan/kg. The wholesale price of bulk Gold Pillow durians in Xiede Township fluctuated between 21.43-24.11 yuan/kg, showing a significant drop from last week, which has reduced farmers' earnings per kilogram considerably.
