Due to increased production in China, prices are weak...with a forecast of increased onion imports and crop switching. Domestic onion prices are gradually declining like clothes getting wet in the rain. The Rural Economic Research Institute's Agricultural Monitoring Center announced on the 2nd that the wholesale price of onions this month will remain around 1,100 won per kg, up 10 won from last month, effectively stagnant. In August, the wholesale price of domestic onions was 1,086 won per kg, which is 95 won (8.0%) lower than 1,181 won in the same month last year. Compared to the average of the past five years (1,170 won), it decreased by 84 won (7.2%).
