Teams from the International Agricultural Surveillance (Vigiagro), from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), intercepted more than 3 tons of irregular products in passengers' luggage at São Paulo International Airport, in Guarulhos, during the month of March. On a single day, seizures reached 270 kilograms. The inspection work takes place daily at airports, ports, and dry borders throughout the country. The objective is to prevent the entry of pests and diseases that could compromise Brazilian agricultural production. The entry of certain products without authorization from Mapa is prohibited, especially items of animal and plant origin.
