A meeting led by Deputy Governor Vasily Ivanov in the Ilovlinsky District of the Volgograd Region focused on the development of grain reception and logistic infrastructure to handle the 2021 harvest. The discussion included the modernization of storage facilities and transport infrastructure, with an emphasis on increasing capacity and efficiency. The region, a leader in agricultural production, has seen a 15% increase in storage capacity between 2014 and 2020, with a current capacity of 6.5 million tons. Local farmers, who have sown over 3 million hectares for the 2021 harvest, are supported by partnerships that enable them to export around 1.5 million tons of grain annually, with shipments reaching over 30 countries. The Volgograd Region is actively modernizing its agricultural facilities and logistic networks to enhance the income of rural communities and maintain its position as a significant grain producer in Russia.
