Windpark Krammer, owned by energy cooperatives Zeeuwind and Deltawind, has initiated a unique collaboration with ZLTO, rewarding 15 farmers for carbon sequestration for five years. The farmers use various methods such as compost supply, wood belt planting, and field margin sowing to store CO2 in the soil. This initiative is marked by planting walnut trees around the wind farm from mid-December, with an information board at each tree providing details about the partnership. These walnut trees symbolize the connection between carbon farming and carbon capture, contributing to both the environment and the landscape.
