Buyeo County in South Chungcheong Province, South Korea, is leading the nation in the production of seven agricultural products, including watermelon, chestnuts, tomatoes, mushrooms, melons, shiitake mushrooms, and king jujubes (apple jujube). King jujubes and mushrooms collectively account for over 50% of the national production. The county is also promoting the cultivation of king jujube as a new income source in rural areas due to its easy cultivation and requiring less labor. Additionally, Buyeo County is conducting research on mushroom cultivation technology to boost the mushroom industry.
