Watermelon harvesting progresses in different regions of Rio Grande do Sul, according to the Conjunctural Report released by Emater/RS-Ascar this Thursday (5). In the administrative region of Santa Maria, in São Francisco de Assis, the harvest has entered the final phase, with an average price paid to producers of R$ 0.90 per kilo. In São Vicente do Sul, the PX 200 and Granada cultivars concentrated the harvested volumes, and farmers reported that the crop was considered satisfactory, despite the records of plant lodging and the occurrence of anthracnose in the crops.
