The article highlights the significant difference in oil prices in Bulgaria compared to other EU countries, with Bulgarian oil being nearly twice as expensive. This high oil price is impacting the production of dairy products, particularly butter and skimmed milk powder, which has led to a decrease in their production. Despite this, there has been growth in the production of condensed milk, cheese, and cream. The quantity of processed cow's milk in Bulgaria has also seen an increase, as has the production of red meat, despite a decrease in the production of pork, mutton, and lamb due to African Swine Fever. Wholesale pork prices in Bulgaria remained stable in May but are expected to rise due to increasing European and world prices.
