REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MEULABOH — The West Aceh Regency Government is preparing to provide rice seeds as aid to farmers affected by flash floods and overflow floods in the area, as their rice crops were submerged and damaged due to the natural disaster. “We are currently calculating how many farmers can be helped, especially those with rice fields ready to be planted immediately,” said West Aceh Regent Tarmizi in Meulaboh, Wednesday (10/12/2025). Tarmizi said that the preparation of the rice seed aid is to help farmers quickly resume rice planting, so that the economic impact on them is not prolonged. He predicted that the area of rice fields affected by the natural disaster in West Aceh and that can still be planted quickly is around hundreds of hectares. Meanwhile, the area of affected rice fields reaches around 2,100 hectares.
