Vietnam saw a significant increase in cassava and cassava product exports in January 2021, with a estimated 400,000 tons exported valued at $144 million, marking an 88.1% increase in volume and 97.1% increase in value compared to the same period in 2020. The total exports for 2020 reached 2.76 million tons and $989 million, with China being the primary market. Despite this growth, domestic market prices for cassava and cassava products saw a slight decrease in January 2021. The export of cassava chips to China is anticipated to continue to grow due to high alcohol consumption during the Tet holiday.
