In 2023, the Georgian government is set to boost its support for the agricultural sector through various initiatives, including an increased budget for the Preferential Agro Loan program to 200 million lari ($76,126,675), digital technology subsidies for agricultural applications, the continuation of the Plant the Future program, and a new Hazelnut Production Assistance Program. This last program aims to encourage the cultivation of hazelnuts by providing a one-time subsidy of 500 lari per hectare to registered farmers, in an effort to inspire farmers to maintain their walnut plantations despite previous challenges.
