The Chilean authorities embarked on an 11-day tour that included visits to Asia, specifically Vietnam, South Korea, and China, to present a new competitiveness agenda focused on expanding the export basket, strengthening e-commerce and logistics chains, and promoting electronic certification for agricultural products. The Minister of Agriculture, Esteban Valenzuela, was part of the delegation and signed several agreements during the tour, including memorandums of understanding on phytosanitary and organic food certification cooperation with China. The tour also involved discussions on market access for Chilean stone fruits, including peaches and apricots, in China.
