Wheat acreage in the US will increase by 9%

According to the US Department of Agriculture, the country's wheat planting area for the 2023 crop will be increased to 49.9 million acres, up 9% compared to last year. This is reported by the Grain On-Line agency. On March 31, the USDA increased its winter soft wheat area estimate to 37.5 million acres, up 13% from last year. Spring soft wheat is expected to be sown on 10.6 million acres (-2%). The area under durum wheat will be expanded to 1.78 million acres (+9%).
