Wheat exports from Paraná virtually disappeared in 2025, consolidating a strong trend towards directing production to the domestic market. According to the Department of Rural Economy (Deral), linked to the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply, the state harvested 2.87 million tons in the last harvest, but exported only 4 tons — a residual volume destined for Ecuador in December. Since then, there have been no records of new shipments, and the expectation is that there will be no significant exports until the beginning of the next harvest, scheduled for August. The current scenario reinforces the predominance of domestic consumption as the destination for Paranaense wheat. Traditionally, the first quarter of the year concentrates the shipments of the cereal, which indicates a low probability of a reversal of this situation in the short term.
