Wheat market remains calm

Where wheat has been harvested, buyers are offering around R$ 1,000.00 in the interior, with sellers asking between R$ 1,050.00 and R$ 1,100.00. For export, milling wheat with 12% protein was quoted at R$ 1,170.00 on wheels at the Port of Rio Grande, equivalent to R$ 1,000.00 to R$ 1,020.00 in the interior. The "stone" price for producers continues to fall slowly, with a sack at R$ 59.00 in Santa Rosa and R$ 60.00 in Panambi. In Santa Catarina, the new crop has not yet presented a significant volume, keeping the market virtually stagnant. Conab's report indicates 0% of the harvest in the state, compared to 4% last year and 9.2% in the last five years' average. Some producers are already asking R$ 1,250.00 FOB for the wheat that will be harvested, but the buying mills have not yet closed deals at this range.
