In 2023, Kyrgyzstan saw a significant increase in wheat yield, with a 56% rise compared to the previous year, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture. Wheat was harvested from 73,200 hectares, making up 30.4% of all wheat fields, with an average yield of 31.3 centners per hectare. Barley also saw a substantial increase, harvested from 79,200 hectares (32.8% of all barley fields) with an average yield of 27.2 centners per hectare, which is double that of the previous year. Overall, the average yield of cereals reached 29.2 centners per hectare, marking a 2.3-fold increase from the previous year.
