The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has published regulations on the inclusion of Nutri Level nutrition labels on ready-to-eat foods, particularly sweetened beverages. These regulations are outlined in the Minister of Health Decree (KMK) Number HK.01.07/MENKES/301/2026 regarding the inclusion of nutrition labels and health messages on ready-to-eat foods, issued on Tuesday (14/4). The implementation of these labels is carried out in large-scale businesses as an effort to encourage healthier consumption patterns among the public. Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the policy was taken as an educational effort to prevent excessive consumption of sugar, salt, and fat (GGL), which can lead to various non-communicable diseases, including obesity, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes.
