White-cap boletus: third consecutive drop in prices

The white pig market continues to adapt to the consequences of the detection of ASF in Barcelona, which has increased the supply of fattened pigs, with high weights, and a very active demand for slaughter that will increase the supply of meat in the European market, at very tight prices. Thus, the quotations have fallen again, adding a third consecutive drop since the start of the crisis and accumulating a decrease of more than 27 euro cents per kilo in just one week. Its quotation is therefore at values similar to those of the end of January 2022. Exports to third countries are suspended pending the implementation of regionalization measures. Although the slaughterhouses in the affected area depend heavily on exports, the gradual implementation of these agreements should limit the impact on Spanish operators and, consequently, on the European market.
