White meat: Marrakech-Safi holds 25% of national production

Like the meat and milk and beekeeping sectors, poultry farming has great potential and holds a major place in the livestock sector in the Marrakech-Safi region. The poultry industry has around 1,580 broiler and turkey production units in the Marrakech-Safi region. Apart from the 6 production units of laying hens, white meat production in the region is around 156,000 tonnes, or 25% of national production, according to data from the Regional Directorate of Agriculture communicated to MAP.
