The United Arab Emirates faces challenges in agricultural production due to extreme temperatures, limited farmland, and low rainfall, leading to dependence on food imports. To address this, the UAE has implemented a comprehensive agricultural strategy focused on smart agriculture, water conservation, and technological advancement, supported by significant investment from the government and private sector. Similarly, Qatar is also prioritizing food self-sufficiency through the dissemination of smart farms and new agricultural technologies, aiming to reduce its reliance on food imports.
