[Korea Farmers and Fishermen Newspaper] The issue of organic tenant farmers who have fallen into the status of "ghost farmers" remains unresolved. It is pointed out every time there is a national audit, and the minister has promised countermeasures several times, but the situation on the ground has not changed. This year, organic farmers once again called for the establishment of protective measures in front of the National Assembly building. Despite the issue being raised for a long time, the government and the National Assembly have not been able to fulfill their roles. Farmer organizations and organic farming groups have been calling for the establishment of countermeasures, citing numerous cases where tenant farmers, due to the lack of written lease contracts, are not legally protected and are pressured by landlords to give up their organic certification or are driven off their farmland.
