Created in 2002, but with full functions and operational capacity for no more than 6 years, the National Registry of Rural Workers and Employers (Renatre) is in charge of overseeing tasks in the agricultural sector. In addition to unregistered jobs and irregularities, this work often allows for the detection of much more serious cases, such as human trafficking for labor exploitation, a highly invisible phenomenon in the productive interior.
In a recently released report, the United States government office highlighted the work done at a macro level against the crime of human trafficking and exploitation in the country and mentioned the tasks of this mixed body, which includes the UATRE union and the four employer entities of the Mesa de Enlace.
