During the II Symposium on Intensive Production, Adão Hoffmann, the executive director of Ampasul, stated that Brazil has the potential to surpass the US in cotton exports by utilizing irrigation to strengthen its second crop of cotton, particularly in Mato Grosso do Sul. Hoffmann emphasized the importance of irrigation in regions with variable climates to maintain the quality and quantity of the harvest, as well as to ensure long-term sustainability and efficient water resource management. The symposium also discussed innovative practices like rainwater harvesting and the creation of dams to increase cotton production productivity and resilience.
