Greenhouse tomatoes of domestic production in Ukraine cost 30-50 UAH/kg. This is on average 23% more expensive than at the end of the last working week, according to analysts from EastFruit. The main factor driving the increase in the price of the vegetable has been a reduction in its supply on the market. At the same time, the demand for tomatoes remains stable. In parallel, due to seasonality, ground tomatoes are also becoming more expensive, which also encourages the growth of prices for greenhouse tomatoes. However, despite the increase in price, a year ago greenhouse tomatoes in Ukraine were even more expensive. At the beginning of September 2024, they were sold on average 25% more expensive. A kilogram of tomatoes at Novus at the beginning of the week is sold for 60.99 UAH. Greenhouse tomatoes at ATB are sold for 64.89 UAH/kg. Silpo sells this product for 60 UAH per kilogram.
